Moving Beyond Allyship to Advocacy: Responding to Voter Suppression Featuring Basil Smikle, Tory Gavito, Samantha Kelty & Brian Miller
With voting rights in jeopardy nationwide, combatting the history and current sophistication of widespread voter suppression tactics requires action from us all. As we approach Election Day in November, join the Institute for Nonprofit Practice (INP) for a panel discussion to explore the role the social sector can play in continuing to educate and organize its communities and colleagues around these issues. Learn about policies at play given both recent and long-standing disenfranchisement, organizations that are leading the way in this work, and ways to engage as citizens and social impact leaders.
This session will be moderated by Brian Miller, Executive Director of Nonprofit Vote, and feature panelists Tory Gavito, President & CEO of Way to Win, Samantha Kelty, Staff Attorney at the Native American Rights Fund, and Basil Smikle, political strategist, professor and contributor to MSNBC and CNN.Register
