Audrey Gillis

Senior Vice President of Advancement

Audrey brings more than a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, with experience in both fundraising and program implementation at social justice organizations.

A passion for racial and gender equity and transformative leadership led Audrey to the Institute, where she was hired as the organization’s first Development Director and later promoted to Senior VP of Advancement. She currently leads the development and execution of INP’s national fundraising and communications strategy.

Previously, she held leadership roles at organizations including Italian Home for Children and Rosie’s Place. Her time at Rosie’s Place, a sanctuary for women in need, started when she volunteered full time teaching classes in English as a foreign language. She soon was brought on as the organization’s first Teacher Coordinator of the Women’s Education Center. In her role, Audrey oversaw 100 volunteer teachers and helped to double the number of students served annually.

Audrey currently serves on the board of Thom Child and Family Services. She previously served as co-chair of the fundraising committee for The Home for Little Wanderers’ annual Waltham House fundraiser.

A Massachusetts native, Audrey is an alum of the Institute. She graduated from Skidmore College with a BA in Spanish and Women’s Studies and spent those years serving as a Big Sister, playing ice hockey, studying abroad in Madrid, and kindling her passion for social justice.
