Lisa Holton is a leader with over 25 years of experience in publishing, media and education in both the public and private sectors. She consults with nonprofit organizations on strategic planning and content development, and also serves as an advisor and thought partner to Executive Directors. Previously, Holton was the President of Classroom, Inc., an educational technology organization that creates digital learning games for middle school students. Prior to that, she was the President of Scholastic’s Publishing and Book Fair Divisions. She also ran the Global Children’s Book Division at the Walt Disney Company, where she founded Jump at the Sun, the first African American children’s book imprint at a major publisher and created a global creative center which originated new intellectual property for the company.

Holton is currently a board member of the Feminist Press, co-facilitates the Women’s Leadership Council, a 50+ NYC-based women Executive Directors group, and serves on the board of Friends of Judson, a new nonprofit supporting the arts and justice work of Judson Memorial Church. She has been part of the New York Women’s Foundation community for over twenty-five years, serving as a board member for twelve years.

Holton lives in Brooklyn and looks forward to playing soccer in Prospect Park again one day.
