Executive Vice President, Camp Harbor View

Lisa Fortenberry is one of Boston’s most respected and innovative leaders in youth development, bringing over two decades of experience to her role as Executive Vice President of Camp Harbor View (CHV).

Since joining CHV in 2018, Lisa has played a central role in transforming the organization from a seasonal summer camp serving thousands of middle school students into a comprehensive, year-round youth and family development organization. Under her leadership, CHV has expanded its impact to include leadership development and college and career access for young people, alongside family-centered strategies focused on advancing economic stability and mobility. Today, CHV supports more than 200 young people and their families through an integrated model that includes social-emotional learning, family engagement, and innovative economic mobility initiatives, including one of the most extensive privately funded guaranteed income programs in the United States.

Before CHV, Lisa held senior leadership roles at City Year and Scholar Athletes, where she partnered closely with Boston Public Schools and community stakeholders to design, scale, and sustain student support programs serving thousands of young people on their path to high school graduation and postsecondary success.

Lisa’s commitment to youth, families, and community-centered leadership is reflected in her extensive civic and board service. She currently serves on the board of YW Boston and the American Camp Association New England. Lisa was a Founding Trustee of the Dudley Street Neighborhood Charter School, previously served on the board of Orchard Gardens K-8 School, and has contributed to numerous citywide initiatives, including Boston Public Schools’ Level 4 School turnaround efforts and district redesign teams. Lisa also serves as a Senior Fellow with the Institute for Nonprofit Practice’s Core Certificate Program, supporting nonprofit, public, and social impact leaders in developing the skills and networks to advance their careers.

Lisa holds a degree from Bridgewater State University and is a graduate of UMass Boston’s Emerging Leaders Program and the American Express Leadership Academy. Her commitment to family and community deeply informs Lisa’s work, and she resides in Quincy, Massachusetts, with her husband, Stephen, and their two sons.
